Bangor has plenty to entertain all ages, making it the perfect destination for a summer family day out.
Morning attractions
Start your day with a trip to some of Bangor’s top attractions. Take a walk through Castle Park and the Bangor Castle Walled Garden (open seasonally), the beautifully restored garden at the Town Hall then stop off at the North Down Museum where our 200-year history as a seaside destination is presented with fun and fascination.
Lunch in Bangor Town Centre
Bangor’s Town Centre is an excellent place to stop for lunch. There’s a wide variety of food on offer including many family-friendly restaurants, cafes and bistros.
An afternoon on Bangor’s Seafront
After stopping for some much needed refreshments, head to the Bangor seafront and the Pickie Fun Park, perfect for all the family with its adventure playground, giant pedal boat swans and the windjammer café.
Make an evening of it
When its time for tea, and if the suns still shining, enjoy a picnic in nearby Ward Park, then go for a leisurely walk along the promenade or catch a family flick at the Bangor Omniplex to end the perfect day.
